Meghan,

I sent an email to the whole class, but my server kicked back the address you provided in class. Please email me at conner@stpt.usf.edu so I can fold you into the mix. Thanks!

Trey,

Is it required that we print out our group projects? The majority of my work relies on the links associated with them, so it just seems like it would be a waste of paper. It's your call.

Allie,

I agree--let's save a tree. However, you'll still need to create a sequential version (a "mix," or a "snapshot") of the project. Select text from the project, drop it into a word processor, mix. Render as .pdf with the built in pbwiki .pdf-maker, or try the free online pdf converter. Upload your .pdf to the wiki, link it here, there, and everywhere you see fit. Take until next week to do this--or, if you think it might help you prepare a

presentation, work on it today. Remember that we are actually interested in the blur of transduction that will happen when we move from wiki to other media, and so the feeling that any linear version can only be "less than wiki" is both acceptable and expected. At the same time, try and think "different, but not less." Don't try for a coverage model, don't try to reduplicate wiki's parataxis/connectivity on the straight page. Instead, notice the blockages of connections, and work with those rhythms.

Notes from Trey:

The final project is not a coverage model ! The straight-mix presents itself as nothing more (or less) than another retorical situations. The final project is an opportunity to move from a web presence to a printed page. Sample yourselves, stitch those little segments into one big paper! One more audience experience, folded back onto the wiki through a PDF. Just one more mix, but he does think that it would be nice to play the juxtaposition game. We want to go ahead and pull from the main threads of the project as we see it in terms of audience and create a couple juxtapositions and let the gutters be pronounced with a header. Build our audience address and our strong resolution statements. Have fun! We can basically do anything we want--or, put another way, we'll listen in the links. Draw a straight line and follow the course to the finish line. Turn everything into a PDF and then post this to the final projects area on the main page. He said to try something different and try to freak him out!!! That is really what he is looking for, and this final project is just going to be an accompaniment to the wiki.
